These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of StartupBook.org (the "site"). By using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. If something is unclear, email hello@startupbook.org.

1. The site, plainly

StartupBook.org publishes guides, book reviews, and a curated directory of tools and communities for people building startups. The site is free to read and does not require an account.

2. Acceptable use

You may read, link to, and quote reasonable portions of articles for personal or non-commercial educational purposes, with attribution. You agree not to:

  • Republish substantial portions of guides on another site without permission.
  • Use automated tools to scrape the site at a rate that disrupts other readers, or to train commercial models without authorization.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site, its hosting, or its underlying systems.
  • Use the site in any way that violates applicable law.

We reserve the right to block IP addresses or visitors that abuse the site.

3. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise noted, all original text, layout, code, and graphics on StartupBook.org are owned by StartupBook.org and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Book covers and third-party logos are the property of their respective owners and are used for informational and editorial purposes only.

Quotation rights: short, attributed quotations are welcome. For larger excerpts or republication requests, email hello@startupbook.org.

4. Third-party links

The site links to external resources — books, tools, communities, articles, government and legal references. Those links are provided for convenience. StartupBook.org does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content, accuracy, privacy practices, or availability.

5. Editorial scope and limitations

Guides on StartupBook.org are written for a general founder audience and are educational in nature. They are not legal, financial, tax, or professional advice. Specific situations require specific advice from a qualified professional. See the Disclaimer for the long version.

6. No warranties

The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StartupBook.org and anyone associated with it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the site, the content, or any external resources linked from the site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
